In his role, Raymond had a special focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He has participated in many projects, such as a Data Journey for the Nederlands Forensisch Institute.

As a coordinator Anomaly Detection Raymond was responsible for leading a team of data scientists, data engineers and software engineers in the development and implementation of a deep learning anomaly detection tool. The objective of the tool was to detect, at an early stage, errors in the IT systems for Direct Payments. Furthermore, he was responsible for setting up an Agile way of working for the team and further dissemination of the results within the company.

Within Lowell Financial Ltd, Raymond was responsible for managing and coaching of a team of senior analysts in Leeds (UK) as well as of a team of data scientists in Amsterdam. In this role, Raymond coached these team members in increasing their knowledge and skills in the field of Advanced Analytics and data science. He achieved this through 1 to 1 coaching as well as through the provision of lectures and workshops for example on machine learning methods. Furthermore, in this role Raymond was responsible for the creation of a vision and strategy for Advanced Analytics and data science of the company, supervision and hands-on support on the migration of the on-premise data warehouse to Azure (including creation of data marts and setting up a framework for data quality monitoring) as well as recruitment. Within Lowell Raymond also had the role of Programme Manager for the reset of the company’s contact strategy. Among other things within this project personas are created through machine learning techniques in order to better tailor the contact strategies to the needs of the consumers. Furthermore, the project entailed the development and improvement of willingness to pay and ability to pay models. Connected with these models, Raymond has developed a new roadmap for a new generation of Pricing models aimed at determining an optimal price for portfolios within Lowell. Through the use of several ML methods Raymond has also implemented these Pricing models in for example AutoML.

In this role, Raymond was responsible for the development of data science applications for the commercial departments and operations as well as managing and coaching of a team of 28 data scientists and analysts. At Transavia Raymond was hands-on involved in numerous projects, such as setting up pricing models for tickets and ancillaries through ML, topic modeling for the open feedback of passengers in questionnaires through NLP, the development of new models for the pricing of tickets and ancillaries through machine learning, development of KPIs in order to measure customer satisfaction (PXI), prediction of illness of cabin crew in order to optimize standby’s, optimization of flight schedules through Operations Research related techniques, estimation and prediction of turn-around times, tail assignment and the design and deployment of dashboards in PowerBi and Tableau. Apart from this, Raymond was responsible for stakeholder management and has set up a stakeholder platform. Besides this role, Raymond was also Product Owner for customer profiling and was a member of the organizational change circle.
