Catalina Balcázar

I am Catalina Balcázar de Wasseige a 24 years old Colombo-Belgian. I completed my degree as a designer with a minor in visual arts at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. I completed it by doing an internship ( last semester of 2021) in Enlightens, a company located in Eindhoven, Netherlands that works on making concepts and formats to communicate knowledge, innovations and societal issues to a wide audience, my main role in it was making all the graphic communication and illustration that every project needed. I have oriented my career towards design thinking and graphic design connecting my two passions; the understanding of human behavior and his needs with graphic design and illustration, making the first one a tool to work on the second one. This combination of design fields have helped me to connect in a better way with who I am designing to so I can propose a conscious design. I am always seeking to understand the context for who I am going to design and connect with in order to create a specific understanding of it, always having the client context and needs as a central point. I am constantly looking for inspiration in this changing world, and understanding human behavior in order to make the most of my knowledge and be able to create a positive impact with my work.
