Canva is the world’s leading online design platform with 100M+ monthly active users. Canva is heavily investing in AI technology and one of those teams owns the Magic Media app. Joined as backend engineer to help build a robust and extensible connection between the machine learning models and the user interface. Helping the team realize their vision of becoming the internal platform for all media generation activities. Also expanding beyond the team, helping to build future proof backend systems and architecture. Was lead backend engineer in the platform integration with Leonardo.ai after acquisition.

Achieved: Running a stable platform with 10M+ daily generations, AWS backend migration with a 40% cost reduction, implemented monetisation features, successful launch of Leonardo.ai integration

Bol.com is the biggest web shop of The Netherlands and Belgium with over 12 million customers. Worked together with the data scientists, running many machine learning models in the cloud production environment. Initiated, designed and built a reliable, performant and easy to use forecasting platform called Delphi. It dynamically generates pipelines for forecasts and their experiments, based on meta data from a database, editable in a UI. Delphi enables a data scientist to go from a forecasting idea to production in 1 day.

Achieved: Delphi is used and loved by all bol.com forecasters and is currently expanded to other parts of the organization.
